6‑axis robot for slat handling
A 6‑axis robot that picks up aluminium slats and places them into a cage, supported by an automated gantry system.
This project uses a 6‑axis robot with a reach of 3.2 metres and a payload of 125 kg to handle aluminium slats with high precision. Equipped with a large custom‑designed gripper, the robot picks up each slat and places it into a cage in a controlled manner. The fluid, complex motions required for this task earned it the nickname “the dancing robot.”
An automated gantry manages the positioning, loading and unloading of the cages, ensuring that the robot can operate continuously. The synergy between gantry automation and 6‑axis robotics results in a fast, robust and highly flexible handling setup.
With six degrees of freedom, the robot is able to perform advanced trajectories that are difficult or impossible using traditional equipment. The system is modular, secured with proper guarding and equipped with an intuitive interface for operators.
This installation demonstrates how Indurra leverages robotics to automate heavy, repetitive and precision‑critical tasks — delivering maximum efficiency, stability and speed.
