By managing all phases of mechanical engineering and robotics in our own facilities, we have everything we need to strive for high quality in various areas. Every prototype is conceived, designed, built, (virtually) tested, and finished in our own facilities. From the design office and assembly hall to the finishing touches in our paint shop. Indurra stands for totality. That is our power, which sets us apart.

History

Indurra has been in business for 80 years. From Smidse Dewilde to Dewilde Engineering and now Indurra. It has been a journey of continuous innovation and progress.

Founded in 1937 as Smidse Dewilde on Sterrestraat in Ypres, the company originally specialized in metalwork. In 1984, it was taken over by André Deturck and in 1989 it became a subsidiary of the Pidy group under the name Dewilde Engineering. To achieve further growth, the company moved to the industrial zone of Ypres.

In 1997, Patrick Heughebaert took over the management of the company and in 2005, an MBO was launched. In 2009, the company moved to its new headquarters at Oostkaai 20c in Ypres. In 2019, the new offices and an additional assembly hall (1000 m²) were put into operation.

The name Indurra, which will represent the company from 2025 onwards, was chosen to better reflect the broad range of activities. Indu refers to industry and the letters ‘rra’ stand for robotics, repair, and automation. With Indurra, we are looking ahead and continuing to strengthen and challenge ourselves to further develop our knowledge and expertise. Since 2003, we have been integrating industrial high-tech robots and focusing heavily on delivering advanced robotics solutions. With our ‘digital twins approach’, we also offer a distinctive service that has earned us a strong position as a high-quality machine builder. With a rich history and confidence in the future, the next generation, Liza Heughebaert and Brecht Crevits, is now ready to work with the team to create innovative industrial solutions for our customers worldwide.
