Paper unwinder/rewinder

Automated paper unwinding and rewinding unit with precise tension and speed control, designed for food production environments.

For this project, Indurra developed a dual paper unwinder/rewinder that automatically feeds, guides and rewinds paper webs within an automated production line. The system is tailored for food applications, where hygiene, accuracy and uninterrupted operation are essential.

The unit ensures stable paper movement through integrated sensors, tension control and intelligent PLC-driven synchronization. Roll changes can be performed quickly while maintaining continuous operation, and the system keeps the paper flat and consistent without folds or tears.

All electrical wiring, safety logic and programming were developed in-house, including seamless integration with upstream and downstream equipment. The solid, low‑maintenance construction makes the unit suitable for high‑demand food production environments.
